when the music tells a thousand stories
its become very clear to me of late....
how much i listen to not only a beat of a song, but i am incredibly influenced by lyrics......
how much of a song can you relate to yourself?
how much of the artists experiences and life resonates with the people that listen to their music?
is it an artists goal to do this? to have their lyrics resonate so soundly to people that listen? or are they just using their joy, pain, fear and anguish as inspiration for their words, hoping someone will listen?
There seems to be an odd number of break up songs springing up all around the traps at the moment..... As a sucker for a good tune, and a victim of heart break, I unashamedly admit to listening to Adele's Someone Like You on high rotation, and do not even get me started on Gotye/Kimbra's Someone That I Used To Know................
would i like these songs without such emotion driven lyrics? ........ had i heard these at a time when i was blissfully happy would they have the same effect?
i guess that is anyones guess.........
all i know is, my notebooks don't lie.......... im a sucker for a good lyric.....
and im glad we are back to the times when people openly convey their life experiences into beautiful poetry........ the door is officially closed on the dark days of music.... the 90's ......
